Default What to do if someone had poison ivy *guide

I had poison ivy a couple weeks ago so, I would like to make a guide on how to prevent it and what to do when you get it.

Usually found in wooded parts of North America poison ivy is a noxious weed which usually can be found in a three leaf formation and has a shiny look to it.

When you encounter poison of course don't try touching it.

Another way to avoid poison ivy is to wear stuff to cover the skin of your body like long pants, shoes ect..

If you get poison ivy the ways to get it off our pretty simple, if you have a really bad reaction please consult with a doctor and probably you would be put on steroids

One of the most effective methods for removing the oil is to use mineral oil or pure ethanol to dissolve the oil so that it can be washed away from skin, clothes, tools and other items. Another good way to rub alcohol for 10 min. on the spot this will cool it down and stop the itching.

One last option which I don't prefer is to use sand paper to rub it off. This hurts like a bitch so, make this your last option.

Wow lucky we don't have this in Australia (AFAIK).

We used to use sand to get rid of the sting of a jellyfish... All it does it pain, but SANDPAPER?! ROFL.

I heard human pee worked better. My brother went on vacation somewhere (I forget) and got stung by a jellyfish and the diving instructer said that human pee was the best way to stop the sting.

On Topic:I usually don't do anything I just leave it alone and dont worry about it that always seems to work

I believe it'll go away naturally but to stop the side effects immediately or to reduce it drastically you can use the above.

And BTW Zack you can't "get" or "have" poison ivy as in a disease. You're merely suffering from the side effects of coming in contact with it. Poison Ivy is a plant not a disease.
