Default How To Shoot A Soccer Ball!

Welcome to my guide on:
How To Shoot A Soccer Ball!

This guide will teach you many different types of shots and how to perform them. It gives a step by step procedure on how to shoot a soccer ball. + rep if you like this guide
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Table of Contents:

1. Basic Techniques/tips of shooting a soccer ball
2. The Long- range shot
3. The dipping shot
4. The curling shot
5. The half volley
6. The instep volley
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Basic Techniques/tips of shooting a soccer ball

* Strike the ball with the laces or instep of your shoe, do not stike the ball with your toe, this is known as a toe hack (no control).

*You should have about 1 ½ steps between you and the ball before you shoot, this is needed so you have power when you shoot.

*Follow through once you are done striking the ball, this important because your follow through helps you aim and lifts the ball higher.

* Shoot very often, whenever you see the net, and think you have a good shot, just shoot the ball. More shots = More goals.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. The long-range shot

The aim of this shot is using aim, rather than power to beat the goalie, this shot require technique.

Procedure:

1. Run up to the ball. Staying fully balanced.

2. Strike the ball, cleanly using your laces.

3. Keep you head up after striking the ball, and follow through smoothly.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. The dipping shot

The aim of this shot is to create topspin to make the ball suddenly dip. You should use this shot if the goaltender comes out of his net.

Procedure:

1. As the ball comes to you, get your foot underneath the ball and stike it hard with your laces.

2. You must follow through as high as possible and keep your head up.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. Curling shot

This shot is a bit hard for beginner soccer player as it involves a bit of skill. If you can perform this shot properly it can be very usefull at tricking the goalie.

Procedure:

1. Keep your head down as you approach the ball.

2. Use a backswing on your striking leg as you move to hit the ball

3. Hit the ball with you the outside of your foot, make sure to strike the edge of the ball.

4. Follow through smoothly.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5. The Half Volley

To master the half volley you must be able to anticipate the bounce of the ball to stike it cleanly. If you hit the ball at the right time, the shot will be excellent, but if your timing is off you will either be unable to stike it or your shot will not be controlled

Procedure:

1. Keep your eyes on the ball as it drops, and anticipate where the bounce will go.

2. Use your arms as balance, point your foot down and hit the ball just before it bounces.

3. Give your shot extra power and control by pushing your foot through the strike

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6. The Instep Volley

This shot is one of the harder ones, I advise that only people who are experienced should attempt this volley. If you perform this properly it can easily beat the goalie.

Procedure:

1. As the ball comes to you, take off from your non-kicking foot, and rotate your body. Keep your arms out to maintain balance and keep your eye on the ball.

2. Strike over the ball to keep it down. If you strike it properly it will be very powerful, and can easily beat the goalie. Remember to break your fall using your arm.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well I hope you enjoy my guide on how to shoot a soccer ball :P
