How to make a PDF File By Woody
1.0 [Introduction] Well this is hopefully my last guide as a non-guide writer but we'll see there are some guide in my collection I don't know about. Anyways after Justin started distributing his guide I noticed that it was in regular .txt format and I though he should make it into .pdf for easier reading and harder ripping. So I'm going to demonstrate two different ways to do this one is with an online conversion tool and the other is with downloaded software.2.0 [Online Conversion] Well this is pretty basic and requires nothing but the document you want to convert and an email address that accepts attachments.We will be using this website for converting our document: https://www.pdfonline.com/convert_pdf.asp Currently Supported Document files: MS Word (DOC), MS Publisher (PUB), JPG, PNG, MS Word (RTF), MS Excel (XLS), BMP, TIFF, MS PowerPoint (PPT), HTML (MHT), WMF, EMF, MS PowerPoint (PPS), Text (TXT), GIF Ok well now that we have all that done with we can start the example. 1st Step: Click on Browse at the blue box. 2nd Step: Locate your supported file and select Open 3rd Step: Change the name of your file. You can always rename it later 4th Step: Enter a valid email address this is where your file will be sent 5th Step: Click Convert to PDF  If you do all that right your browser should now display "Your document is currently being processed..." After that its just a matter of waiting for the email with your file. It shouldn't take more than 10min. Lets review the pros and cons of this service: Pro: Quick No Download Limited Knowledge Cons: 2mb max upload Have to give away your email address They could read your document 3.0 [Software] Ok so now its time to learn how to make a PDF on your computer with free software.The software that I will demonstrate using is the CutePDF Creator because of its ease to use and small file size of only 1.54mb. There is other PDF conversion software, like the one build into Open Office and a premium one by Adobe that allows actual editing of the file even after conversion. To get started you need to visit this link: CutePDF - Create PDF for free, Free PDF Utilities, Edit PDF easily;. And you can download the software directly here: http://www.cutepdf.com/download/CuteWriter.exe After downloading, install the software. After installation is complete a readme should pop up in your browser. Now open the document that you want to make into a PDF. I will be making part of this guide into PDF. Click on File>Print  Now locate the CutePDF Writer under your list of printers and click print.  You should now get the option to save your file, select your name and where you want to save and hit Save.  And there you go a brand new PDF file just for you. Make sure that you save the original document just in case you want to edit it later.
