More Spam Prevention

Today I've taken another step towards preventing spam here on RSF. I've installed a plug in that will scan all posts for certain keywords usually affiliated with spam bots' posts. If the plug in finds any of the keywords in the post it will automatically sen it to the moderation queue to be approved or disapproved. This plug in will only scan people's posts who have 25 or under post count.

I'm really hoping this plug in stops all this spamming we have been having. It may take a few days or so to get them all prevented because I will have to be continuously adding keywords to scan for. The current filter will scan for any post containing the [url][/url] tag. We may have to edit that out of the filter in the future, but for now I think this will help dramatically.

What if someone super-spams and spams about 20 posts? What happens then?

Then their posts will get through. But usually they spam at a max of 10, usually they don't go past 5. Also, I could up the post to any number I wish. I might up it to 25, just to be safe.

What are the keywords? 'War' 'Religion' 'Conspiracy'?

Great job Rob, I realy hope this reduces the spam a shitload. Over the next few days I'll try and get a general time the spammers come on and start no lifing that time period xD I'll look for some words for you to add to the filter as well.

Thanks, and so do I. I'm sure it will though because every post posted by someone with under 25 posts and has the [url][/url] code in it will require approval before the entire forum can see it.

Hope this works, we have really slowed the bots down already too.

Yeah. This is pretty much the last thing we can do to stop them. I have also been IP banning common IP ranges that the bots have.
