Default Favorite Book

What is your favorite book and why??

I don't know why, but my favorite book is surprisingly Harry Potter. The reason why is because it describes a world different from our regular/ordinary lives and it really get's you to think of what will happen in the next book. It actually does get really interesting in the past few books that came out. I can't wait till the next book comes out :P which is actually pretty soon, i think in around 1-2 weeks

Note: First thread in the literature section ftw

I'm a huge Orwell fan, "1984" and "Animal Farm" are my two favourites, don't ask me to pick. They're both two well written dark satirical books that I have read over and over again.

Harry Potter is a sad, sad collection of novels. I find it hard to believe that the kids in those books are growing up at all. They still act like children in the sixth one. (yeah, I read 'em.)

My favorite book... that's hard. I like everything R.A. Salvatore writes. And his best series is by far the Cleric Quintet. But then there is Terry Brooks, his Shannara books are great as well. And Ed Greenwood has Elminster, he rocks. Then Robert Jordan with the Wheel of Time... that's a good series, but it gets bland too many times through the middle and now at the end.

The Sword of Truth series is great too. By Terry Goodkind. I'd have to say that "Wizards First Rule" is probably my favorite book. Richard isn't a pansy like most heroes. He just wants to be left alone.

I like the Darren Shan series. (Vampire Books) Always fun to learn about how the main character has to do things differently, and how he gets in and out of trouble.

Btw, Stickied.

They're not satirical....:bigeyed:

They're written in a style I believe is referred to as allegory...

But I love Animal Farm...It's great.

Yeah it's pretty hard to decide on a favorite book, cause there's just soo many of them, but i'm sure you have a few books that you think are really good/ well written :P

My favourite book would have to be Roll Of Thunder Hear My Cry. I just like it a lot. I also like Where The Red Fern Grows. I read the book and thought it was amazing. I saw the movie about a week after I read it, and the book was alot better. The characters were'nt anything like I pictured it, and they cut out alot of the important things in the book. I suggest you all read these books, they are my all time favourite books, EVER.
