Definitely, depending on the way people view aspects of their own lives separates the intellectuals from the athletes, etc. If someone has no interest in something, they will naturally pass by it. But, someone else may be quite fond of that thing and will grow to work on/with it. It's what builds society and keeps it the way it is. If everyone saw the world in the same way, we'd get nowhere. It's also a division between science and religion; people who are more logical tend to see science as a way of life, as well the less logical/"thinker"-type individuals will go with religion since it's more simple and gives a sense of "magic" to life which some people need to have faith in themselves.
Perspective is the basis of everything we know.
