What came first, the chicken? Or the egg?
My theory is that the egg came first... why? I have a feeling that there was a biological defect with the sperm cells being transfered... the result was the egg of a chicken.

I say the chicken came first, because animals usually evolve from others, so i'm saying the chicken evolved from something else, and started laying eggs.

The chicken, because god created all the animals. He did not create eggs.

The egg. As the oceans formed, biological processes under ocean as well as alien mitochondrial cells came to the earth, forming earth's earliest breeds that were hatched off as eggs.
That was a wild wild guess, absolutely no scientific background related to it. It could be all wrong IMO.

The Chicken. If you are creationist, a deity created the chicken. If you are evolutionist, how would said egg be fertilized without there being a rooster to do so?

Egg came first because dinosaurs were laying eggs before chickens were.
But seriously, I vote chicken.

According to the geologic time scale, birds evolved from dinosaurs. Since dinosaurs laid eggs, over time, the chicken(a evolution of dinosaurs) developed the feature(possibly an adaptation) of reproducing with the use of external fertilization. BUT, A dinosaur wouldn't lay and egg, and out pops a chicken. Evolution takes much longer then that.

Scientifically speaking, yes.
Philosophically speaking, however, it's an unresolvable circle.
