I completely agree but sadly the government don't listen to 'stoner logic'. Due to the theory that marijuana causes mental problems it is sadly illegal. Even though alcohol causes liver damage, violence etc. I did write a fairly long thread on this, found here: http://www.rsforums.org/forums/intel...-cannabis.html

I need not even read the rest of this thread.

Yes, weed IS addictive. As is nicotine, and alcohol, and methamphetamine.

All drugs are addictive, be they prescription, over-the-counter, legal or illegal. Except for ibuprofen which does absouletely nothing... but that's another matter.

Weed is addictive, and from my experience makes people act even more stupid than they are. And for most people, that's more stupid than should be allowed. Alcohol is the same way.

Personally to me, alcohol is okay, but other drugs are not. I'm not really sure why, but it's probably because I find smoking of any kind so revolting, and injecting just stupid, and the latter. While drinking seems natural, and what not.

I have nothing against other people that smoke, as long as they aren't pot head assholes. But, marijuana and any other drug is definitely addicting.

You have to be careful here Ian. Weed is not in any circumstances physically addictive; you suffer no physical withdrawal symptoms at all. Most studies show that around 10% of users form a psychological dependence on the drug meaning that there is a clear desire to carry on taking the drug in spite of the harm it can cause to them.

People can get shaky, and all the other withdrawal stuff that is caused by other addictions. That seems pretty physical to me.

How do you know this? What is this based on? If you come up with some proof that weed can become physically addictive I will be highly intrigued.

Actually, just to bring this to the table, cigarette smoking is far more destructive than marijuana. Cigarettes destroy many more brain (or lung, I'm not sure which) cells than marijuana.

Lung, definitely. Though, in my eyes to smoke at all you already have a serious lack of brain cells. It does significantly less damage to brain cells, though it is still there.

Here's some addiction facts.

Physical marijuana addiction symptoms, such as trembling, vision problems, hearing problems, lung problems from smoking too much, to lethargy, putting weight on from eating too much, often called "the munchies", to losing weight due to a loss of appetite. The variety of physical marijuana addiction symptoms is enormous. Almost all of these symptoms disappear within a few weeks of quitting smoking weed.

(Nothing physical in the second one, but it is interesting.)

(Too much to take one quote. And the page is annoying as it scrolls to the bottom automatically. But it's a third source, and a good one.)

They are both for the weak. If you need those things to help you deal with your problems, then you are weak. Get through your shit without having to relying on outside help.
