Default First PS Signature

As some of you may know, I usually use Fireworks. Now that Rob and I have been talking he's helped me with Photoshop. Obviously, it's a much better program, and heres my first sig; C&C please.

I like it, but for C+C:

first off, the colors seem kinda random. making the render blend in with the colors and ark background would make it flow better (the guy looks very bright, while the background looks dark),

second, the blue line thingy looks nice but again the color doesn't match anything else.

and lastly the brushes, shapes, and fonts don't really seems to goo with eachother. There is some bold circles on the bottom left, then some curvy and squigly lines in the middle, then some sort of stuff in the background which I have no idea how I can describe (the grey and red stuff), but then the font is plain and bold without blending in.

But that's just my guess, I'm sure once you get used to PS more you'll get better.

For being the first sig in PS, certainly 9/10 better then mine.

Oh yeah its a tad bit big.

I tried to grayscale the render, but it didn't work at all. It like grayscaled that layer, and every other layer under it.. So eh. But thanks .

And yes it is a bit big.. Maybe I should crop it.

Make it 350 by 130. I like that size. :p

By the way, to make the render greyscale, make a new document, make sure that greyscale is selected in the options when making the new document, paste the render in it, it will make it greyscale, then save it. Open it back up in a new document and copy and paste it on your signature. That should work.

Why does have to MSN? Too secreto for the forums? If you don't want people to find out about something, post it at RSF.

Couldn't you also desaturate just that layer to get it grayscale, or am I not getting something here?
