Default Sticking to the Autowins

Looking at the accounts forum, you see account sellers setting autowins, the autowin being matched by a bidder and then someone bidding more. I think this is unfair on the user willing to pay the autowin.

Once the autowin has been bid by a user, no-one else should be able to post on the thread apart from the buyer and seller. We see on eBay a "Buy it now" which is the equivalent to the autowin and I think the forum should stick to similar rules.

I agree. If you aren't going to stick with your auto-win, why the hell do they put it in their thread. That is indeed rather dumb, and also a bit dishonorable for the users that are bidding after the auto-win is reached...

I also agree. If you are going to put an autowin then that should be the MAX you sell for, otherwise don't put it on there..

I 100% agree, i hate it when people do this. they shouldn't put an autowin on their thread if there doing this. There should be a rule made for this.

I used to enforce this in the market...by warning/infracting those who posted after seeing someone just bid the a/w.

Technically it is spam. Since the thread is hypothetically closed once the winning bid is made.

Autowin is more of what the person expects to get for the account so people don't but in silly low bids. If the guy signs onto forums checks his thread and sees that people have put bids higher than his autowin then of course he is going to accept it and has every right to do so. The account is obviously worth more than the autowin and the person deserves all the money they can get for their time spent

Why does have to MSN? Too secreto for the forums? If you don't want people to find out about something, post it at RSF.

I agree with what scorpion said but just like in ebay if the seller puts the auto win too low when he could have made more money that is his fault. So maybe there should be a sticky with something like, "Do not place an Auto-win bid on your post if you are not going to abide by it. If you sell to someone else after the auto-bid has been met then you will receive an infraction."

Thanks for all your feedback, I think that if Boddah and the other Market Mods enforced this by doing what Boddah said he used to do, things would be a lot fairer.
