Stop closing threads for whatever reason you can get. Sure the thread may have gone off-topic from the original post but just let the conversation flow.

I'm tired of punishing people for flaming other members. To solve this problem I will eliminate the source: Threads with members posting off topic starting arguments. It's a simple concept, really.

We only close when it's necessary

I was originally talking about threads that have gone off-topic but that's OK, we can discuss those who flame each other too.

In this case, you could just delete the posts that were flames and punish the users separately instead of punishing everybody by closing what could of been a good discussion.

The Threads are closed when the whole topic gets diverted, and it's not just one person doing it.

If the conversation is on topic and there is a couple of members spamming it, then delete their posts and warn/infract them accordingly, the thread shouldn't be locked because of a few noobs...

Agreed.
The threads that we often locked are ones that have pages of off topic discussion.
