RSF 24/7 Private Server

I was thinking of a new way to increase traffic to RSF... Then I remembered the many members who know Java on rsf. Perhaps rsf could use the IRC Shell to host an official rs private server with as little errors as possible, a near 24/7 uptime, rs1/rsc for members who played that, real exp, not that crappy kind where you cast 1 wind strike and have 99 magic, and if you can prove that your account has the stats and items, you can have it on the private server. This should increase traffic to the site. It might be a bit expensive though and take a long to time perfect but it would be worth it in the end. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

It's a good idea, but I think there would be to many complications. I really don't know :|

It would own, but it would be hard to get perfect and cost more money, which we don't have, to host etc...

I don't like the prove the stats etc idea...

I've yet to see a private server that has proper fighting graphics and details such as quests. They are extremely hard to create, especially if you want to create one similar to the real RuneScape. As far as I know we don't have any elite coders here anyway.

No point really. If a private server is almost perfected, Jagex will piss themselves and send anti-freedom people after you.

See RSCD and StorkPK. Those RSC private servers were awesome. A lot of fun to play on, but of course that Gower dude with the dogey nose wasn't happy and they both got shutdown.

Whilst on the topic of the IRC, is anybody using it anymore?

Lol Speedster...we all know you are an elite java programmer :p! Don't mind him. Anyhow...good idea. Except...the only "elite" java programmer here that I know of is Speedsters.

this has been suggested before... its just to much hassel, there are already to many private servers up, and thereofr extremly hard to make an "original" private server.

I used to create private servers and had 3 up until i moved and my computer got killed in the process so they died.

Great idea! I realy think its possible! I think we can pull it off but we should make xp X4 and no ::pickup codes or ::getitem. We would probily go up on the runescape 100 too. We dont need major decoders to pull this off all we need is to go to moparscape.org forums, they tell u just about everything from creating items & editing items to skillcape emotes and designing new islands and places like that.

I don't think it's best to try to make the PS by decoding it. 4 times the xp is no fun, we want it to be realistic.

This would have to be an ongoing process. I'm sure we can find some loophole to get around Gower's RuneScape monopoly. This here link might help us with this. Just rename some items or something.

Speedster is probably the best java programmer that we have as of now. I'm sure that we could get more once/if this grows. Resident can also code java I think but he's not really involved.
