Runescape GP Lottery

Alright,

I figured I would through this out there for this forum as well. I think this will attract alot of new members as well as help benifit RSF. The way it will work is like so...

You guys as "Admins/Mods/The big honcho" decide the basics. For example, how much the starting pot is and how much each ticket will be. In my opinion users can purchase as many tickets as they please. Keeping in mind that they will not better there chances of winning if they do infact buy more than 1 ticket.

The drawing periods will be a 5 day time span. Starting on Monday. When Friday comes around, who ever has the task of performing the "Drawing" will hold the drawing.

More than 1 person can win the lottery at any given time. You are not guranteed to win the lottery if you buy a ticket.

Now about how to keep track of everything. I created a program that we started using on "****.org" (Not sure if you guys would allow me to say site name). It is a 2 part program. Part 1 is the "Lottery Generator". Basically it generate's a number(s) depending on how you guys want it set up. You input how many tickets the user purchased, there RSF username, and click generate. Once the ticket's were generated, you would click another button to add the users ticket's to a form. Every time you add the tickets to a form it generates a timestamp. You would then review the form to ensure everything is ok. You can then save the file your "Lottery Folder". I would suggest copying the users ticket's and send them via pm, and place it somewhere on the forum as well so people can have quick access to it.

Part 2 of the program is the "Drawing" When the time comes for you to hold the drawing, you would open up this program. Click the start button. You will see numbers start flying by... after a few seconds it will randomly stop on a random number. At the bottom it will tell you what the winning number is.

Now the program's can be edited to your specific needs. For example, if you wanted it to have 2 numbers per ticket. Or if you wanted it to be random from 1 to 1,000,000.

With all that said, the user that wins will not receive 100% of the pot! RSF keeps 25% for the next drawing to get the pot started, and the user(s) will split the remaining 75%.

Now think of it this way. If you start the pot off low... not sure how much, and you make the ticket price's 5K - 10K ea. If 100 users purchase 10 tickets each, thats 5 - 10M in the pot. Now if you keep 25% for the next drawing thats 2.5m and the user(s) that win will split 7.5M+ what ever the starting price was. Not a bad way to go out right?

Well if you like it and want more information all you have to do is 1) let me know if you like the idea. 2) send me in a PM the exact details on how you want it. 2a) Or talk to me on MSN.

EDIT: If any admins/mods want to better understadn what i am talking about PM me and i will send you a link of the site where we have this started.

hey look, another lottery idea.

if they get more tickets, they should have a better chance of winning.

Its complete random. Sure if they buy more than 1 ticket they may get lucky but in reality you only need 1 ticket to win.

Now if you bought 2 tickets, one with the number 38 and one with the number 184. Then in a sence you have a better shot at winning. But once again you really only need 1 number to win!
