Maybe someone deleted all the desktop items?

Also try right clicking on the taskbar and press [Show the desktop].

I remember one time I played a joke on my brother's profile and took off everything to the desktop and put them on my thumb drive... it was really funny, he was freakin out like "OMG I GOT HAXED!!!!!!!"

Just reboot and go into safe mode.

1. He has already tried that, next time, actually READ a post before trying to help

2. That would help....how? Rebooting into safe mode is mostly used for solving problems with hardware/software..Now, please tell me, How desktop icons have anything to do with software/hardware? (Besides the fact that they are quick launchs to the applications)
But, good try

Now that statement, I have to agree with, It could be as simple as that.

OR, someone could have done the prank KP did to his friend, or, You have no desktop icons yet (AKA new computer.)

Not that I am becoming a batch nut or anything lol, but try this:

@echo off
REM PUT DESKTOP ICONS BACK! - BY MATT OF RSF
set header=DESKTOP FIX - BY MATT
echo %header%
echo.
echo.
echo Someone delete your desktop icons? Well I should be able to help!
pause
echo Y|reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer /v NoDesktop /t REG_DWORD /d 0 > NUL
pause
echo There you go! I have attempted to fix your problem!
pause
echo You will need to restart your computer to see if this has worked.
pause
echo Thanks for using me =]
pause
exit
Hope that will work for ya. You will need to open up notepad, and paste everything there into it. Then name it "Desktop Fix.bat" (don't change that name).
