Default Gaining Admin Rights on your Computer

Gaining Administrator Rights on your Computer

A Guide Made By Phaethon

Using this simple guide, you will be able to change your own account to an administrator on your own computer, delete or simply bypass any unwanted programs (such as parental controls) and also access files that you are having trouble accessing.

I am assuming you are running windows 98 or later

Start by clicking Start>Run

Now type "msconfig" in the text field and click "ok"

You will now see a new screen, click the tab that says "boot.ini"

Now check the box that says "/Safeboot" and then click "Ok"

You will be prompted to restart your computer, do so.

When you log on, the welcome screen will appear, and there will be an account called "Administrator" log into that account (no password required)

You now have administrative powers, and you can change the current accounts of your computer to administrators, or change other settings/ files on your computer.

Note: To undo this, simply go back to the msconfig window, and uncheck the "/safeboot" option.

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to post them here, I would be happy to help you or just hear your feedback on this guide (please rate it as well )

No, just whenever you change something it asks you to restart to apply your changes.

Hmm, turn your computer off manually, and push F8 at the start-up screen. I think that should do it..
