Default 1 gb ram vs 2 gb ram

im looking at a few laptops atm and i was wondering if i should get 1 gb ram or 2 gb of ram. is there a huge speed boost with 2 gb? or should i just save money and get 1 gb lol

I have 1 GB and my computer is great. (Desktop) I don't think I would really need anymore then 1 GB... Not sure what all you do on your computer.

I don't believe 2 gb is necessary but it definitely has a boost in speed.

I have 512 Mb and I need 1 gb badly.

1gb(what I have) is doing well for me. No lag on rs, unless I have like 50000000 programs running... It's pretty good, although my internet connection sucks (100.0 MBS)

2GB DDR2 533MHz is great :P

128 ram for windowsXP
64-128 ram for antivirus program
32 ram for IRC
64 ram for ICQ
512-1024 ram for some games
IE7 - minimum 64 ram
FF2 - minimum 32 ram

I have 1.5GB and it's terrible. I'd say 2GB minimum. It's never bad to have too much.
