Default Retarded Computer

My computer won't boot up and just sits there making noise, any suggestions before I set it on fire?

Why does have to MSN? Too secreto for the forums? If you don't want people to find out about something, post it at RSF.

Does a start up screen come up? If it does press F8 multiple times and try booting from your secondary slave drive (if you have one) or the backup drive (if you have one.) If none of those if you have a Windows XP (or whatever operating system you have) disk put that in and boot from it.

Are you sure it's the fan? I think the main harddrive might be dead, therefore it can't boot.

Also, does it make a clicking or knocking sound when it tries to boot?

NEW COMPUTER!
simplest solution out there

-Thanks, U 1053(I love doing this little italics thingy. Only mods and stuff use it and sometimes random people use it like me, you know, it probably doesn't look very professional if I write this... O well, I still thing this is too commonly used.)

I managed to get it to work this time but most of the time no boot screen shows up and other times it boots to the logon screen but the mouse and keyboard don't work. I'm pretty computer savvy but this is out my knowledge... I took apart the computer and I think it might be because it overheated...

That's probably what happened. I usually take the cover off my computer after about two hours of it being on.
