Default Need some internet help!

well i was gona post this somewhere else, but this is the only place it would really get noticed.

Ok i have a sort of downloading problem.
My computers internet is well about average around here. My webpages youtube, rsf, google etc load really fast. Heres the speed test thing i ran on my internet:

average? Yes but i'v been having this problem.

Problem: My internet is fast, BUT when i go to download something it freaking downloads at like 8-20 KBPS!!! thats like sooooooo omfg slow. Limewire,Utorrent, youtube vids etc.. their al downloading so uber slow. My internet kinda has been gradually falling the past month. a normal movie or music file was downloading at a nice speed of about 250-350 kbps, its not bad im use to waiting a bit... but now its 8-20kbps! its KILLING ME!

If anyone has any advice or ANYTHING id appreciate it!

well theres your problem right there:

if you used to be able to download stuff at speeds of 300ish Kbps and your internet now is only 111kbps (you always gotta add a "." before the last digit when using speed test to know exactly what your internet is). So it would appear that your internet has taken a plunge. heres some likely problems:

1: your using IE. download firefox and use it and see if it makes it better.
2: someone/something is using up your internets
3:I notice you were up at 1:37AM when doing that speed test (sorry, just wanted to point it out :P)
4omething happened with your internet that would cause this (perhaps virii would do it, always scan your comp!)
5: perhaps the person you were downloading from was jsut busy. WAIT scratch that, I didnt read the youtube part, so nvm on this idea.
6: GAH I had something i was thinking about but its gone... ill edit if i remember.

Your ISP may have slower speeds at peak times due to load so test it in the morning, mid-day, and at night and compare the results.

Like Jansen said your ISP might have imposed a bandwidth cap on your account, unlikely in the US but it's possible.

Try clearing your web cache and possibly increasing its size. And if your running windows and running hardware intense programs you probably should be restarting your computer every few days to ensure your computer doesn't slow down.

Also try another Speedtest server near you, sometimes you get poor results because of the server used. They aren't perfect.

Also note, that if your phone cable is longer, your connection will be slower... so if you have a phone jack in 2 rooms away from you and you have like a 20 foot phone cable, I suggest you put your modeom in the room with the phone jack, and run a blue LAN cable down to the room where internet is needed, as LAN cable does not affect speeds.
