Default -.-.-.-.-.-

Hi.

My D-Link USB 2.0 Rangebooster adapter hasn't been working lately. If I plug it in, USUALLY it says 'USB device not recognized'. All of my drivers are up-to-date.

So I called D Link. Put on hold for 30minutes.

So I'm talking to this Asian dude, he says to contact eMachines(The original manufacturer of my computer, but I've pretty much made it my brand via customization.) And get a 'Wireless Connection ''Icon''' Onto my computer.

The automated voice thing on their phone line is worthless, duh. :wacky:

So the guy on the line guided me through a process, system restore/driver restore.

I've never had to re-install any Window's components and such, but it ended up re-installing my operating system.

.....-
So now I have a clean, fresh Windows. But I still only have 130GB left??

I thought it uninstalled everything?! Why is my space missing? I had 200-250GB Free default space. Need I do more "..-"?

RAWR

It sounds like, instead of doing a system restore you have spilt your hdd into partitions... Whats why you would be "missing some HDD space" and explains where your documents went... I cant remember if Windows copies itself from your orginal partition.. i think mine did...

If your still having these problems just pm me and ill go through a couple of things with you, see what they have done..

Something like this happened to me on a computer I used to use. Windows got a virus and we reinstalled a new copy over it but the old OS was still there so I lost half my HD to the old OS.

You could solve this by backing up the files you need and reformatting your HD and then reinstalling all your stuff again. But thats sorta extreme.

you should be able to get it back if you re install windows. you will be asked where you wanna install it unpartitioned space or partitioned. you can delete partitioned then install it. this should then give you your full HD back

If you don't mind losing all your files and you want that HDD space back, run a program called "KillDisk" it's nice in these situations.
