The obvious reason is so that people can't just spam "Hello" here for post count.

Because post count is seen as serious business here, having a high post count means you have prestige posts held in such worthiness of nearly everything Shakespeare wrote. So basically, posts that don't really make much sense, but are lengthy are welcome.

No, post size reflects pen0r size. The more posts, the bigger the pen0r. (Unless you are staff, then it doesn't matter what size your pen0r is because you're gay.)
