My girlfriend was considering suicide last night, and made me wonder what people think of it.

If they want to kill themselves, I don't have a problem with it. If they own their own body, surely they can damage it to the point of death.

I believe it is religiously wrong.
Morally, I could care less but I kind of feel bad for them. If it were someone I knew, I'd discourage them from it.

Well one of my really good friends attempted suicide a year or so ago and when I found out about it, it was one of the most shocking things i'd ever heard i mean just to realize like your best friend had a really good chance of not being there that second, I mean just losing someone who you care about is such a horrible thing...

I don't like it when people "attempt suicide" and fail. Seems more like a cry for attention than any sort of real intention to commit suicide; last time I checked, it isn't that damn hard to kill yourself if you are serious about doing it.

Suicide is STILL selfish, end of story. If you try to kill yourself, I don't feel sorry for you. If you do kill yourself, I hate you.

There's always a reason. People who attempt suicide are people who (usually) believe they are alone, they have nobody to talk about their problems. So comes the call of attention.

I agree with Ian. I do, however, feel sorry for the family and loved ones of the person who committed suicide.
