Who else was there, then?

THERE ARE MORE THAN JUST DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS.
Bob Barr was on there as the Libertarian candidate. There was a U.S. Taxpayers candidate. And there were 2 others, and that's just the ones we had here in Michigan. I dunnoe about other state ballots.

He was on the ballot, thing is states decide which candidates appear on ballots other than Democrats, Republicans.
Some states have like 4 candidates while others may have like 10.

Yeah, but third party candidates don't work, unless there is a giant reformation, there will never be a president who is not a democrat or republican in my lifetime.
And Dragonslayer,
Nice double post you fucking dumbshit.

I agree, neither Obama nor McCain were the best candidates, but the presidential race in the United States is such that Democrats and Republicans are the only ones who get the funding and air time to speak. Most public news networks, whether it be CNN for Democrats or Fox for Republicans, have an extreme bias to one party. Also, even if such media outlets don't have a bias, they can be paid by a party to cover a meeting or speech from their candidate. The same can be said for television networks that aren't news affiliates, because the Republican and Democratic parties both have much more funding than any third party, not including donations made by members of those parties. Sadly enough, unless a candidate is in the Democratic or Republican Party, they will not hold enough influence or have enough funding to get their message out, and if he is, he will owe too many political favors by that point to be able to go with his initial ideas, even if they were great, ideal, and workable.
